What to do when Bitdefender detected a clean file as infected? [Bitdefender Windows 8 Security]
There are cases when Bitdefender mistakenly flags a legitimate file as being a threat (a false positive). To correct this error, add the file to the Bitdefender Exclusions area:

Turn off the Bitdefender real-time antivirus protection:

Open the Bitdefender window.

Click the Settings button on the upper toolbar.

In the Settings Overview window, select Antivirus.

In the Antivirus Settings window, select the Shield tab.

Click the switch to turn off on-access scanning.

Display hidden objects in Windows.

Restore the file from the Quarantine area:

Open the Bitdefender window.

Click the Settings button on the upper toolbar.

In the Settings Overview window, select Antivirus.

In the Antivirus Settings window, select the Quarantine tab.

Select the file and click Restore.

Add the file to the Exclusions list.

Turn on the Bitdefender real-time antivirus protection.

Contact our support representatives so that we may remove the detection signature.
